Founding Meeting

Founding Meeting of the Auckland Fire Police

There were actually two meetings, one after the other, on June 22nd 1933 to form Fire Police in Auckland. The first gathering was the formal creation of the organisation and the inaugural swearing-in of members as Constables, and then what's described as the first meeting of the new organisation decided office-bearers and preliminary matters until a later meeting when more permanent decisions could be made. Here are the minutes of those two meetings the originals of which, thought to be in Secretary Harry Jane's hand-writing, are still held by the Unit.
